| The major donor of the MIKRA Microcredit Foundation is the United States Department of Agriculture – USDA – which placed a portion of the funds generated through the monetization program in Bosnia and Herzegovina into the microcredit sector, through CRS as the owner of the MIKRA Microcredit Foundation among others. We would like to use this opportunity to thank for the confidence USDA entrusted to MIKRA in its effort to offer financial support to poorest economically active women, working in their own small businesses and struggling to ensure better lives for themselves and the members of their households.
In addition to USDA, MIKRA’s donors have also included the US State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migrations – BPRM – as well as Catholic Relief Services – CRS – as the founder of the MIKRA Microcredit Foundation.
By realizing the projected goals, with the assistance of the aforementioned donors, MIKRA has reached an enviable level of financial stability recognized by CORDAID. Business Finance Unit as part of CORDAID entrusted MIKRA with loan funds on a commercial basis, and as an organization with strong social character, it offered support to MIKRA’s work with poorest population groups.
The MIKRA Microcredit Foundation is also a member of many local and foreign associations, organizations and centers, such as MFC, MIX MARKET, MBB,… where it provides active participation in seminars, training courses, information sharing and other activities within these organizations. |
